Interior and exterior renovations are in progress at the former Randolph Savings and Loan bank building, transforming this historic space into a 38-room boutique hotel and restaurant—marking the first downtown lodging option in nearly 40 years!

This project is made possible through state and federal historic tax credits, which help property owners revitalize historic buildings while maintaining their architectural integrity. Special care will be taken to preserve the iconic modernist design of this 1960s structure while adapting it for modern use.

With Asheboro’s historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022, more property owners can take advantage of historic tax credits to reinvest in and restore downtown properties—supporting local businesses, job creation, and tourism growth.

The Asheboro Main Street Program is committed to fostering economic development in our downtown district. Once completed, this project will not only enhance our downtown environment but also attract visitors and boost local businesses.
